CAROLINE CARLSSON

I started my journey into the art world in 2008 when the directors of Swedish gallery Modernity asked me to assist them during their first participation to the PAD Art&Design fair in Paris.

Shortly after the fair, I set up an office in Paris to strengthen Modernity's ties with Parisian designers and collectors who were increasingly interested in exclusive pieces of modern Scandinavian design. I curated furniture, lighting, ceramics and glass for projects by Luis Laplace, Pierre Yovanovitch and Caroline Sarkozy, among others.

During the following ten years, I traveled with Modernity to Art Basel, TEFAF Maastricht and New York, Masterpiece, PAD London, Paris and Geneva, and FOG in San Francisco. While at the office in Stockholm, I would take every opportunity to learn from Andrew Duncanson, one of the world's most respected experts in design and founder of Modernity. His passion and enthusiasm for historic pieces were contagious and his attention to details and exceptional craftsmanship, a daily masterclass. It takes years to train an eye for good design and while I still consider myself as an apprentice, I am keen on embarking my clients on this learning journey.
